So what is "The Furry Monkey? Nothing rude, lewd or crude, only my weird sense of humour and a few drugs (all legal and above board!). The Furry Monkey I'm referring to is the one I told you all about that I saw on the A30 going into London on one of my many appointments. The Bed Banana is me, of course. I mentioned to my brother John, that I was becoming a couch potato and he said "no, not a couch potato more of a Bed Banana". So there it is!

NOW - I suppose you're wondering what the hell it's all about? Mainly it's about me and my Primary Bone Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma - diagnosis, treatment, chemotherapy, radiotherapy....everything I want to share with you.

Several people said I should keep a diary so why not an online one? That's how "Cancervive" (a play on words) started. Unless you've been through it or are going through it you just WON'T understand - much as you'd like to. Here you get warts and all.

I'll be adding new pages (so check it out often!) to the site as and when fatigue and other side effects allow. The brain is willing but the body is weak! Some you'll find interesting, others totally boring. Unless you like what I like! Suggestions and/or criticisms can be emailed to me.

To give you a taster of what is to come on the Furry Monkey, below are a few highlights of each section. Please be aware that this website may contain the occasional swear words.

So The Furry Monkey is online and kicking! Have a look around and see what you think. Email me about anything and I'll reply. You know I always do - unless there's a technical hitch!!

THE BIG C

This should be fairly obvious - THE BIG C or CANCER as some brave souls call it. I call you brave because some people won't even say the word; it's just referred to as The Big C.

Here you'll find information about Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, mainly my type of Lymphoma (Large B Cell Primary Bone Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma) but you will find other information about all the tests you could have, dealing with cancer, what treatment you may have, the side effects of treatment, anything cancer related really.

CANCERVIVE

Cancer is not the death sentence that it used to be. Although you have a 1 in 3 chance of getting cancer in your life, people do survive to tell the tale.

Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in some cases is curable and I hope to be updating this website for many years to come. Here you'll find "My Diary", how I feel, the ongoing problems. A sort of Adrian Mole type thing....

HALL OF FAME

I had to have my own personal Hall of Fame on my website. You may even find yourself in here….who knows. All of the important people who have helped me get through this are included here, from cats to consultants. I'm trying to get photos of everyone but it's not easy!

OTHER STUFF

So what is in here? The other things in my life apart from Lymphoma and illness.

Jokes to keep me smiling, please note they are not all clean! Our cats (Bertie & Domi) who kept me company during the long (and sometimes darkest days of chemo!). Kites for when I can go flying again. Fast cars are a must of course and I miss mine like crazy. Computers, my link to the outside world when chemo hit and you felt cr@p or you just had a bad day (or days!). Anything else I feel like adding at the time will crop up every now and then.
